Professional Bio

I am a second year PhD student working toward a Dual Title in Comparative Literature and Asian Studies.
My research considers the uses of Noir as methodology to (re)construct our understanding of intimate human
relations. I focus on Japanese and Korean literature and film from the post war to the contemporary period, paying special attention to depictions of family or its absence, and the central roles violence and depravity perform in its (de)construction.
