Scholarship opportunity: Early Excellence in CompLit Award

The Early Excellence in CompLit Award is a scholarship designed to encourage undeclared students in the Liberal Arts who have displayed a depth of interest in Comparative Literature and have excelled in at least 2 CMLIT classes to declare and complete the major. Comparative Literature is often a concurrent major with majors in the languages, so the award is given in the spring of the sophomore year to aid students in the development of research and/or language skills.

Awardees traveling for research or the pursuit of language skills over the summer, generally through study abroad or intensive summer language courses elsewhere, may use the funds (ranging up to $3,000) to help subsidize their endeavors.

Eligible students should submit a letter of interest (including a list of CMLIT courses they have taken, and a list of the CMLIT courses they would like to take to complete the major) and a resume to the Director of Undergraduate Studies by April 30. professor.abel@psu.edu
