on receiving two grants in the U.S. Department of Education’s Title VI funding competition, totaling about $2.2 million for the next four years: (1) funding for the Center for Global Studies (CGS) to be a National Resource Center and (2) funding for Foreign Language and Areas Studies (FLAS) grants that support students to study Less Commonly Taught Languages.
