A presentation by two Penn State faculty members. Sherry Roush will report on an article forthcoming in Translation Review, in which she reflects on the use of AI in the translation of an Italian short story, and Brian Lennon will present a forthcoming forum in Comparative Literature Studies devoted to AI and translation.
• Sherry Roush is Liberal Arts Professor of Italian specializing in medieval/renaissance, and early modern Italian literature, culture, and translation. Most recently, she translated and edited Phileto’s Story by Lodovico Corfino (Centre for Renaissance and Reformation Studies “Texts in Translation,” 2024).
• Brian Lennon is a Professor of English and Comparative Literature. He has published books and articles on programming languages and software development cultures, the history and theory of machine translation, translation theory, multilingual literature, and world literature.
