Combining Comp Lit with other majors

How does Comparative Literature combine with related majors?

Comparative Literature Major with a foreign language major:

  • CMLIT 100 (3 Credits)
  • CMLIT 010 (3 Credits)
  • CMLIT 400Y (3 Credits)
  • CMLIT 4XX (any 400-level CMLIT course) (3 Credits)

Note: 12 of the credits below must be at the 400 level.

Supporting courses in Comparative Literature:

  • Choose any two additional CMLIT courses. (6 Credits)

Foreign Language:

  • Choose two foreign language courses beyond the 003 level. (Double 6 Credits)

Additional Courses:

  • Choose four literature courses in the department of your foreign language major. (These must be literature courses) (Double 12 Credits)

If you have a major in another language with a literature focus, you may add a CMLIT major with 18 credits.
